What the New Testament Taught Me about Models for Ministry

I am a third-generation missionary. My grandmother rode yaks in Tibet. And my mother rode jeeps in Indonesia. Missions is in my blood, a heritage I wish to pass on to my three daughters. Women did as much, went as far, and died on the fields as often as their male missionary peers.

Is fulfillment of the Great Commission hindered because women are not equal co-workers in all levels of decision-making and mission activity? My answer is yes, for historical, theological, and psycho-social reasons.

While most missionary men and even single missionary women have well-defined roles, the constantly changing roles of married missionary women are often unclear.
