Presenter: Matthew Soerens, US Director of Church Mobilization, World Relief
Description: Refugee and immigration issues have dominated headlines globally recently. While many American Christians view these issues primarily from a political, economic or security perspective, these issues also have dramatic implications for the mission of the church, both globally and particularly in the United States. In this webinar, Matthew Soerens of World Relief will explore a biblical perspective on issues of refugees and immigration, address many of the most common concerns and point to practical opportunities for Christians to engage the missional opportunity of immigration.
Matthew Soerens serves as the US Director of Church Mobilization for World Relief and the National Coordinator of the Evangelical Immigration Table. He is the coauthor of Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis (Moody Publishers, 2016) and the recently-updated Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion and Truth in the Immigration Debate (InterVarsity Press, 2018). He is a graduate of Wheaton College and DePaul University’s School of Public Service.
