Mission Leadership Conference Important Announcement
This will not come as a surprise to many of you. We have all seen events, one after another, cancel or convert to virtual over the past few months while praying this would not be necessary for us. But this week, Missio Nexus has made the decision not to host our face-to-face event for Focus 2020. Instead, we will be offering Focus 2020 in a different format.
Why Have You Decided to Cancel?
We received some 400+ responses to a survey conducted in the past two weeks. Many of you expressed concerns for health and safety, quarantines, travel restrictions, and not least of all unanticipated financial restrictions. In addition, the venue, the Rosen Centre, has graciously released us from our contract with no penalty, something that is almost unheard of. After much consideration and prayer, we decided that the wisest course of action for us at this time is to cancel the face-to-face Mission Leaders Conference in 2020.
Will You Be Doing a Virtual Conference Instead?
Yes, but the format and time commitment is different. We are planning a 3-hour virtual experience, Focus 2020 Spotlight, for Thursday, September 24 at 1:00 PM EDT. This virtual event will be preceded by a 40-day devotional experience delivered via email, our website, and in E-book form. These devotionals will highlight our conference theme and are written by leaders in the Missio Nexus community. More information will be coming. For those with paid registrations, you will be registered automatically for this virtual event at no cost. Others will pay a registration fee.
How Will You Handle Registration Refunds?
You are entitled to a full refund for the 2020 Mission Leaders Conference. There will be a 30 day Optional Refund Period ending Monday, July 27. Your refund options include:
- A full refund
- A partial refund with a portion which you designate donated to Missio Nexus
- Credit your refund to Innovate 2021 in Dallas, Texas, September 22–24
- No refund, the entire amount donated to Missio Nexus
Missio Nexus will be losing both revenue and expenses already incurred by this cancellation. If you are able, prayerfully consider donating part or all of your refund to help defray these costs.

To let us know your intent and/or to receive your refund, you must complete this online form. If we do not hear from you during this time, we will understand that your intent is to apply your registration fees toward registration at next year’s Mission Leaders Conference.
