Laura Mae (“Larrie” ) Gardner has served in Wycliffe and SIL for 60 years. Her contributions include a New Testament, advanced studies, counseling and developing member care, administration and leadership. Laura Mae is a pioneer of Member Care and authored Healthy, Resilient and Effective in Cross-Cultural Ministry as well as hundreds of articles and chapters in books. She serves on boards, consults with mission organizations, and teaches seminars and workshops around the world. She is enchanted by the idea of Resilience and has studied it for decades, now condensing her thoughts in a booklet titled Resilience. Larrie is married to Dick and they live in Tucson, AZ . They have two sons, two daughters-in-law and eight-plus grandchildren.
