Doing Church and Mission in a Context of Suffering, Persecution and Martyrdom

Presented by William D. Taylor, Ph.D. Senior Mentor Mission Commission World Evangelical Alliance

Suffering, persecution and martyrdom take on unique characteristics within Church and Mission. We will examine not only the status of global persecution, but also related topics such as manifestations of substantive opposition to Christ and his church around the world, the demonic element, key Biblical passages, the relationship between persecution and normal Christian discipleship, classic Christian responses to persecution, situations where persecution is moving into the West, how to serve the persecuted and what we can learn from them and finally preparing the local churches, our future missionaries and mission agencies to deal with the rise of persecution.
