Canoeing the Mountains: Christian Leadership in Unchartered Territory

Tod Bolsinger

IVP Books, 2018,  250 pages

Summary

The adventurers Lewis and Clark set out on their explorations with a map of what they thought the continent would look like. Upon reaching the Rocky Mountains, they had to reorient their expectations around a new reality that was off the map they had anticipated. Utilizing “on the map” and “off the map” as two ways that leaders must understand their challenge, Bolsinger challenges the reader to reconsider how leadership itself works in today’s environment. In a readable format, this book summarizes much of contemporary leadership theory.
