Tech Volunteer Information
Serving as a Tech Volunteer is a great way to attend the Mission Leaders Conference at a price anyone can afford! We are looking for 15 individuals who are willing to serve as Tech Volunteers to help stream the conference for our Virtual Audience. This important service allows those who would not otherwise be able to attend to participate in great workshops and keynotes alongside us.
What Are the Responsibilities of a Tech Volunteer?
The Zoom call, the computer, and the webcam will all be set up and ready to go for the streaming of each workshop. The Tech Volunteer is responsible to start the recording and manage it throughout the duration of the workshop. There may be some light troubleshooting as well as answering some attendee questions through the Zoom chat.
We provide some training beforehand via email as well as a short run-through on the first day of the conference. In addition, we will have a small technical team on hand to assist with technical difficulties. Although each volunteer should be comfortable with Zoom, this role does not require a technical background.
Each Tech Volunteer will be assigned to a workshop track and serve there for each of the 5-75 minute workshops in that track. We try to place volunteers in the track that appeals most, but tracks are assigned on a first come, first served basis. The tracks are:
- Development
- Executive Leadership
- Finance Administration & Legal
- Global Strategies
- Human Resources
- Industry Specific
- Information Technology
- Local Church Missions – Advanced
- Local Church Missions – Essential
- Mobilization
- People Care & Development
- Short-Term Missions
- Training
- Mixed Track (Ethnic Inclusion/Communications)
When Are Volunteers Expected to Work?
Tech Volunteers will be expected to serve during the following times:
- Wednesday | 12:30 – 1:30pm | Training
- Wednesday | 3:45 – 5:00pm | Workshop Set 1
- Thursday | 8:30 – 9:45pm | Workshop Set 2
- Thursday | 1:45 – 3:00pm | Workshop Set 3
- Thursday | 3:45 – 5:00pm | Workshop Set 4
- Friday | 9:00 – 10:15am | Workshop Set 5
Please plan to show up 30 minutes before the start of each workshop. Aside from these times, Tech Volunteers are free to fully participate in the conference.
What is the Compensation for Tech Volunteers?
All Tech Volunteers receive a complimentary conference registration valued at $449 for Missio Nexus members or $599 for Non-members.
