Gwen Smith

Co-Director of Oneness & Diversity, Cru

Gwen Smith was born and raised in Chattanooga,Tennessee and graduated from Covenant College. She and her husband joined staff with Cru in 1996 with a heart for young people, reaching and discipling students at Howard High School in Chattanooga. They moved to Cru’s National Headquarters in Orlando, Florida in 2006 and she served as the Event Coordinator for the campus ministry. In 2017, Cru announced the creation of a new role called Directors of Oneness & Diversity within the U.S. Leadership team in which the Lord led Darryl and Gwen to co-direct.

Gwen is committed to utilizing her gifts by speaking and teaching the word of God in an effort to help bring unity within the body of Christ.

Building on that history, we later wrestled with what the Bible has to say about creation care. We stood convicted to see the gospel lived out in all aspects of our lives and work. This led us to look at creation care as a posture that must be integrated in all we do rather than a program requiring experts.
