Pray on MLK

Rev. Ron E. Nelson

Dear Friends,

You must admit, if there ever was a time in our nation’s history for prayer, IT IS NOW! I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As the board chair of Missio Nexus and co-founder of the missions organization-Sowing Seeds of Joy, I want to appeal to the hearts, minds, and souls of evangelical leaders across this nation to come together, join in solidarity in the context of 2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Missio Nexus’ mission is catalyzing relationships, collaboration, and ideas within the Great Commission community. That said, I cannot fathom a better idea, thought, notion, suggestion, or action than to bow before an All Mighty God and cry out for HELP in this time of need! For like the men from Issachar as told in 1 Chronicles 12:32, they understood the times and knew what Israel should do.

On January 18, 2021, MLK Day (www.prayonmlk.org), countless like-minded organizations, churches, leaders, laypersons, and individuals, seeking justice through the righteousness of Christ, will mobilize and pray on their local MLK streets for reconciliation, economic renewal, and spiritual revival.  At Missio Nexus, we champion this cause. As followers of Christ, let us take up the mantle to pray fervently for each other, for our communities, for our nation, and allow the Lord’s Spirit to guide us in this endeavor and honor THE KING.

In His Service,

Rev. Ron E. Nelson
Board Chair
Missio Nexus

P.S. Also, be sure to participate in the new “ONE” Devotional Series. This 6-day Bible reading plan will help you see the Church, and its divine purpose, through the eyes of Christ.
