CML: Missionary Care for the Local Church

This is a Peer2Peer virtual event for Church Mission Leaders

Description:

Michael Van Huis and Carlos Negrón of Missio Nexus will be joined by their special guest Jeff Jackson.  Jeff will be interacting with us on the topic of missionary care from the local church.

As the local church prepares to send or IS sending members to fulfill the Great Commission globally; How does it stay involved in caring for its missionaries’ spiritual, mental, and physical health? How can the local church truly be an involved part of the overseas worker’s lives, families, struggles & successes? The local church needs to be prepared to care for them as best as it can -sometimes in partnership with mission agencies. Jeff has dedicated many, many years of his life to this topic and has developed several best practices in the area of member (missionary) care. During our time together we will consider these best practices and how we can strategically implement them in our local church to care for those that God has entrusted to us.
