One Mission Society Celebrates 125 Years

GREENWOOD, Ind. – June 2026 – One Mission Society (OMS) celebrates its 125th anniversary on June 26-27, 2026, at the University of Indianapolis campus. The sold-out event will bring together more than 500 attendees from more than 20 nations across 6 continents.

The theme of the anniversary celebration is “Faithful God, Faithful People, Unfinished Task.” This milestone event features worship, a parade of flags, stories from around the world, commemorative videos featuring historical OMS footage, and updates from OMS leaders and regional teams.

“This story [OMS’] begins and is sustained by a faithful God,” said Jeffry Edwards, OMS’ 12th President. “His purposes have moved through every season of this organization’s life and have been woven into every step over these 125 years.”

Founded in 1901, OMS serves in 86 countries, works in more than 55 languages, and has about 300 full-time missionaries and thousands of national coworkers and partners. The ministry began when Charles and Lettie Cowman and Ernest and Julia Kilbourne moved from Chicago, Illinois, to Tokyo, Japan, to partner with Japanese evangelist Juji Nakada and his wife, Katsuko, to share the Gospel with every person in Japan.
