Summary

This book presents a collection of inspiring stories from more than 50 missionaries across the world during the second half of the twentieth century, which is considered “the greatest missionary generation.” The book intends to answer these questions: Who were these members of the greatest missionary generation? What motivated them? What were the conditions of their calling? What can we learn? How can we value, remember, and cherish them so that their sacrifices and heroic deeds will not be forgotten? The author collected these stories when he was vice president of Crossworld from 1993 to 2013 and when he interviewed these retired missionaries in 33 US states and four Canadian provinces in one year. Through the book, he aims to “cheer on the next generation by building on the legacy of the generations behind us.” Page 12
