Missio Nexus Welcomes Three Key Leaders to its Team

Missio Nexus, the premier association for Great Commission organizations, is proud to introduce the latest additions to its leadership team. These individuals bring a wealth of experience and expertise to strengthen our commitment to advancing global missions. We are excited to welcome them to our organization.

Carlos Negrón Joins as Director of Church Engagement

Missio Nexus is thrilled to announce the appointment of Carlos Negrón as the new Director of Church Engagement, effective September 18. Carlos is a dynamic addition to our team, with a passion for missions and extensive experience that makes him well-suited for this role. His responsibilities in his new role include:

  • Establishing meaningful connections between missions organizations and churches to maximize the impact of their initiatives.
  • Organizing engaging events that bring together missions pastors and church missions teams for inspiration and community.
  • Designing innovative programs to empower churches to effectively engage in missions.
  • Fostering a sense of belonging and partnership within our network of local churches and missions leaders.

Carlos Negrón brings a wealth of experience, having served as a missions leader in churches across the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean. His journey began in Puerto Rico, where he earned a BA from the University of Puerto Rico. He most recently worked as a teacher and missionary with Pioneers and Mustard Seed International. Carlos resides in Florida with his wife, Marisol Kavetsky-Cora, and their three children.

Michael VanHuis Appointed as Executive Director

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Michael VanHuis to the role of Executive Director at Missio Nexus, effective November 1. Michael, in collaboration with President/CEO Ted Esler, will play a key role in steering our organization through its next phase of development.

Michael VanHuis brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to our mission of catalyzing relationships, ideas, and collaboration within the Great Commission community. His focused leadership, strategic direction, and effective management will ensure that Missio Nexus continues to thrive in terms of growth, impact, and sustainability.

Ted Esler will continue to serve as President/CEO, focusing on the organization’s mission, strategy, and growth, nurturing strategic alliances, and ensuring financial sustainability.

Dr. Bob McNabb Joins Missio Nexus as Director of Mission Mentorship

Missio Nexus is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Bob McNabb as the Director of Mission Mentorship, effective January 1, 2024. In this pivotal role, Bob will provide leadership and direction for Missio Nexus’ outreach and engagement with member mission organizations’ field leadership. His responsibilities will encompass launching a network for mission practitioners actively engaged in mentoring, caring for, and overseeing missionary team leaders. This network aims to enhance mentor collaboration, learning, resourcing, and peer-to-peer support. Additionally, Bob will provide mentorship for mission leaders associated with Missio Nexus leadership development programs.

Missio Nexus is confident that Bob McNabb’s appointment will significantly contribute to the organization’s mission to support and strengthen mission leaders worldwide.
