Virtual Event: International Day for the Unreached – Viritual Concert of Prayer

Summary:

Missio Nexus Hosts a Concert of Prayer for the Nations

In the evening of Pentecost Sunday, Missio Nexus in partnership with A Third of Us hosted a Concert of Prayer for the Nations to observe the International Day for the Unreached. The ninety-minute online event featured prayer sets for the world’s 3.5 billion people with least access to the gospel, with a special focus on Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Tribal Animists. Featured speakers representing these religious blocs were from Syria, India, and Cambodia. Additionally, prayercast videos were used to guide intercession, featuring believers from the region praying for their people.

The Concert of Prayer highlighted the reality that a third of the world’s population is “denied access” to the gospel. Over 80 percent of the world’s unreached peoples live in regions that restrict gospel proclamation, which is illustrated by the graphic below.

One of the purposes of the event was to create a model for others to follow. All the materials used, including the powerpoint, script, runsheet and videos are available for download. The downloadable materials have been adapted for general use, and can be used by anyone throughout the year to host an evening time of prayer for A Third of Us. At the end of the Concert of Prayer, a new anthem song called A Third of Us was released, which is available now on spotify. A Third of Us is encouraging new missional songs to be written, both anthem style and for corporate worship, and plans to promote these throughout the year. The recording from May 24th is also available for reference. If you are interested in any of these or would like more information about A Third of Us, please write David Bogosian ([email protected]).
