Engaging through Prayer
Dear God, we want to pray for the CEOs who are leading mission organizations across North America. Father, these men and women are daily faced with great opportunities and great challenges as they lead your people in extending your Kingdom around the globe. Almighty God, we pray for them – their hearts, minds, and souls – that they would purse you and be led by you. Help them, O Lord, to seek you and your guidance as they set strategy, raise funds, interact with personnel, and strive to accomplish the mission of the organization in which you have placed them. We ask that you help them to be good stewards of the resources that you have placed before them. In addition, please place around them a strong leadership team and family to encourage, strengthen, and walk alongside them in their servant leadership. In the name of Christ, Amen.

Personal Reflection
It does not matter the size of organization they are leading, CEOs have great opportunities and challenges they face on a daily basis. This is one of those roles that require the leader to be “always on” and ready to respond to whatever may come. CEOs are often fighting to keep strong personal boundaries and at the same time be available to guide and direct their teams to accomplish the mission of their organization. As can be seen in this infographic, those priorities may consist of attracting qualified staff, fundraising, developing partnerships, advancing organizational adaptability, and the ongoing development of staff. Many of these CEOs feel the personal burden of stewarding resources and advancing mission. Leaders are necessary; strong spirit-filled leaders are essential.

Engaging the Church
One of the additional data points seen in the full study is that CEOs and mission organizations deeply value relationships with the local church. These strategic partnerships have the opportunity to go beyond the essential task of raising up, supporting, and caring for missionaries on the field. New levels of partnership are being formed to engage together to see churches increase in mission vision, to engage with diaspora people effectively within their own communities, and to jointly inspire a new generation of gospel proclaimers. Many organizations offer opportunities for churches to directly connect through church partner forums and other such gatherings. Churches and missions should seek opportunities to grow in partnership and connect in a mutual beneficial relationship for the sake of the Kingdom local and global.
