Addressing the Cultural Shift in Marriage, Singleness & Sexuality

Details: September 27, 2023, 08:30 AM ET

Workshop Track: Pre-Conference

Primary Audience: Mission Leaders, Trainers, Member Care workers, HR staff, Church leaders & Mission Committee members

Dr. Barry Danylak will highlight major cultural shifts in marriage and singleness, exploring them in light of the redemptive storyline of Scripture.

Through a biblical theology of offspring, Barry will unpack how the atoning work of Christ in the New Covenant provided the decisive paradigm shift for how we see marriage, singleness, and God’s spiritual family.

Next Suzy Grumelot will dive into practical application in how this big idea of spiritual family affects our mission organizations worldwide and teams in every culture. Story rich and research driven, we’ll probe different perspectives while offering ideas and positive practices.

We’ll close with an overview of contrasting world views at the root of contemporary challenges around gender, sexuality and identity, and discuss navigating issues around desires and purity.
