New EMQ Editor Appointment
Heather Pubols has been the editor of Evangelical Missions Quarterly (EMQ) over the past few years. During this time, EMQ has experienced a marked improvement in the quality of articles, the inclusion of a larger body of writers, and an increase in distribution. We are excited for Heather as she moves on to a new role, as the CEO of Media Associates International. Heather will assist in the handover of EMQ from October through December, working with the new editor who will formally take over editing responsibilities on January 1, 2025.
Missio Nexus is pleased to announce that Dr. Evelyn Hibbert has been appointed as the new EMQ Editor.
Dr. Evelyn Hibbert became a Christian as a child. She spent her childhood anxious that Jesus would return before she had the chance to go to the mission field. When she and her late husband, Richard, heard of the largest unreached people group in the world, they determined to become church planting missionaries among them. God, instead, deflected them to support a movement of thousands of Muslims to Christ in Bulgaria. They planted a church in a region where there was no church in the Muslims’ language. They also did leadership development and discipling for the movement across Bulgaria. Later, they left Bulgaria to become part of the international leadership of their mission agency. As part of this, they pioneered a different way of preparing missionary candidates by doing ministry while living among migrants. Evelyn has since had multiple roles in both secular and theological education. Her publications focus on helping people in intercultural ministry be more open and effective. In her academic work, she promotes research into mission practice, and supports practitioners in communicating their experience through writing. She is the founding leader of both the Angelina Noble Centre and the Global Region of the Evangelical Missiological Society.
Please join us in congratulating both Heather and Evelyn as they begin their new roles.
