Description
There are many areas of risk within a missions organization that can hit its bottom line if not properly managed. For example: high-dollar lawsuits, staff injuries and damage to owned or rented property in the U.S., as well as worker evacuation, third party injury claims, and government actions directed against ministries and their workers overseas. From loaning cars to furloughed missionaries, to collecting funds through web-based donation platforms; from sexual abuse allegations, to imprisonment for distributing bibles, to kidnap and ransom situations – having a comprehensive insurance program in place can make all the difference in navigating the wide variety of ministry risk exposures faced by mission-sending
organizations.

This session will address those areas that have historically been covered by property and casualty insurance and will identify some insurable risk exposures that you may not have previously considered.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain the key insurable risks associated with a missions organization’s U.S.-based operations.
  • Identify international risks for which coverage may be available that is new or was previously unaffordable,
  • List the key factors to consider when reviewing insurance coverage, as well as identifying common gaps in coverage.
  • Discover approaches to help you think through the cost/benefit of various ministry-focused insurance coverage offerings and limits
