| 27th. Intercede for Kashmir amid rising Indo-Pak tensions. A brutal militant attack killed 24 tourists and threatens to spiral into broader conflict. India blames Pakistan, water-sharing treaties have been revoked, and war talk looms. Pray for de-escalation, for the bereaved families, and for a peace that protects the vulnerable rather than politicizes their grief. Praise God for what work exists spreading the Gospel in the region, and ask him to send more laborers who will speak of a better kingdom where justice rolls down like waters.Psalm 46:9 – “He makes wars cease to the end of the earth… he breaks the bow and shatters the spear.” 28th. Pray for Congo as leaders hint at a cease-fire. A surge of violence in eastern DR Congo has devastated communities. People have been wounded and killed, and women have been violently abused. M23 rebels and government forces now speak of truce—but trust is thin, and hurts run deep. Pray for protection of civilians, restoration of communities, and for the church to be a source of refuge and reconciliation in places where suspicion still reigns.Isaiah 58:12 – “You shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.” 29th. Lift up migrant workers fleeing the Horn for the Gulf. Desperation drives thousands—especially Ethiopian youth—across deserts toward Saudi Arabia. Many perish on the journey. Those who arrive may face detention, abuse, or forced return. Yet still they go. Pray for mercy on the road, for justice in receiving countries, and for believers—whether aid workers, fellow migrants, or local saints—to bear witness in word and deed.Psalm 9:9 – “The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” 30th. Thank God for Kenya’s bold plan for refugee integration. Kenya is moving to transform Dadaab and Kakuma from camps into thriving communities. Pray that the Shirika Plan succeeds in dignity, not just logistics. Ask that integration fosters trust between citizens and refugees. Pray that churches will be arise that will be shared places of grace, discipleship, and renewal for all who dwell there.Isaiah 32:18 – “My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.” 1 May. Ask guidance for witness among Muslim migrants in Japan. Japan’s labor gap is drawing workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, and beyond. Pray that among these migrants, believing hearts would find voice and courage. Ask the Lord to raise up faithful witnesses from the nations arriving at Japan’s doorstep—ones who see their placement not only as work, but as mission.Acts 17:26–27 – “From one man he made all the nations… and he marked out their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so they would seek him…” 2nd. Pray for Myanmar’s blocked aid and frontline believers. Five years into war, Myanmar reels from earthquake damage while the junta blocks outside relief. Local churches—scattered, pressured, and poor—have stepped into the breach, sharing food, prayer, and shelter. Pray for strength and safety for these believers. Ask that their mercy would multiply hope, and that the Lord would bring justice to those who trample the ‘little ones.’Proverbs 14:31 – “Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” 3rd. Intercede for churches caught in warzones. From Gaza to Sudan, from Congo to Myanmar, churches are targeted—sometimes because they shelter the displaced, sometimes because they follow Jesus. Pray for courage to endure, for wisdom to care wisely under surveillance or threat, and for the boldness to share the news of a greater Kingdom.Hebrews 13:3 – “Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.” |
