Shifting Your Support Model

In American missionary-sending efforts, the self-support model has helped mobilize an incredible workforce.

But many mission agencies have found that they at least need to supplement this model by hiring full-time fundraisers to raise support for organizational initiatives, and others are finding that there is a need for blended approaches with more salaried roles and subsidies for supported roles.

In this panel, you will hear from leaders of two different organizations who have different support models, Jews for Jesus and Pioneers. Participants will leave with (1) an understanding of the range of practice in self support models, (2) insights into the way peer organizations are evolving their financial models, and (3) an overview of what work changes to pay models can require.
