2022 Missions Founding

2022 Missions Data

Data on the dates of missions organization founding.

113 agencies provided founding dates this year; 46% were founded after 1990.

Of those founded since 1990, only one (Friends Network/Lutheran) was a denominational agency. Of the 52 agencies started in 1990, 44% were Support agencies, 21% were Sending agencies, 19% were Service agencies and 15% were Specialized agencies. Seventy-eight percent of agencies started since 1990 focus on supporting, servicing or uniquely aiding mission agencies and movements, not sending. This is a notable change in focus from prior decades.
