Statement of Faith Update

June 2026

Dear Missio Nexus Members,

We’ve just completed an update to our Statement of Faith—not to change what we believe but to strengthen how we present it. There are three changes:

1. Categorization:
   • We’ve reorganized our core convictions under nine themed headings (Scripture; God; Jesus; Holy Spirit; Humanity; Salvation; The Church; Evangelism & Missions; Christian & Society) so you can quickly find each affirmation.
2. Biblical Support:
   • Every statement now carries numbered Scripture citations, anchoring our beliefs directly to the Bible for clarity and doctrinal consistency.
3. Social Commitment:
   • We added a “Christian & Society” section that outlines our call to uphold justice and morality, care for the vulnerable, and defend life – grounded in God’s Word and mindful of legal contexts.

All original content remains intact; these are additions designed to clarify our theology, fortify our biblical foundation, and provide clear guidance for both spiritual and social engagement. Thank you for your continued partnership in advancing the Great Commission together.

Statement of Faith Established in 2012 during the merger of Cross Global Link and the Mission Exchange into Missio Nexus

Statement of Faith

We will continue to develop a Missio Nexus for the expression of Great Commission oriented evangelicals in North America that fosters shared learning and collaborative action.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Adam, created in the image of God, was tempted by Satan, the god of this world and fell. Because of Adam’s sin, all men have guilt imputed, are totally depraved.

We believe that salvation consists of the remission of sins, the imputation of Christ’s righteousness and the gift of eternal life, received by faith alone, apart from works.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe that the church, the body of Christ, consists only of those who are born again, who are baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ, for whom He now makes intercession in heaven and for whom He will come again.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that Christ commanded the church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, baptizing and teaching those who believe and that the natural outcome of such activity leads to the establishment of local congregations.

Statement of Faith

We will continue to develop Missio Nexus as an expression of Great Commission–oriented evangelicals in the United States and Canada that fosters shared learning and collaborative action.

SCRIPTURE
We believe the Bible to be the inspired¹, the only infallible², authoritative³ Word of God⁴.

JESUS

HOLY SPIRIT

HUMANITY

THE CHURCH

THE CHRISTIAN AND SOCIETY
We believe all Christians are under obligation to make the will of Christ supreme in our own lives and in human society¹. In the spirit of Christ, Christians should oppose racism, greed, selfishness, vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography². We should work to provide for the orphaned, needy, abused, aged, helpless, and sick³, and contend for the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death⁴.
