Status of Bible Poverty

The Mission Exchange announces the December 2010 Global Issues Update: Global Status of Bible Poverty

Complex global challenges impact Great Commission activities at every level. No matter how connected and motivated you are as an individual Christ-follower, church or mission leader, you can’t be an expert on everything. The December 2010 edition of Global Issues Update addresses the Global Status of Bible Poverty with subject matter expert Bob Creson. Bob was appointed president of Wycliffe Bible Translators USA in May of 2003. Since first joining the international work of Wycliffe in 1983, he has served in a variety of positions including leadership roles in Wycliffe Bible Translators International and SIL International, Wycliff’s primary partner organization headquartered in Dallas, Texas. He served as the field director in Cameroon and Chad, West Africa, International Field Director for SIL International, International Vice President for Personnel, and as member of the Board of Directors of SIL. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Wycliffe Bible Translators International. There are approximately 6,900 spoken languages in the world. Just under 2,100 of these spoken languages are still waiting for any portion of the Scripture to be translated into their mother tongue. That represents about 5.6% of the world’s population. But the pace of translation is accelerating and we have the amazing privilege of living at a moment in history when the last language translation project will begin. In this Global Issues Update you will hear how God is at work and what you can do to join Him in making the Scripture available to the peoples of the world.

Global Issues Update is a bi-monthly (6 times per year) downloadable webinar that focuses on big picture issues impacting the world of missions. This resource is free for all categories of membership with The Mission Exchange and $19.95 for others.
