Field Leader Intensives are transformative five-day experiences crafted specifically for cross-cultural field leaders. They provide a rare opportunity to step away from the demands of daily leadership and engage deeply with essential topics through expert teaching, peer collaboration, and guided reflection. Held in October, each intensive is designed to equip you with practical tools, renewed vision, and fresh encouragement for the journey ahead. You’ll learn, connect, and grow together with fellow leaders who understand the unique challenges and joys of field leadership. To maximize your growth, each intensive includes meaningful pre-work and personalized follow-up coaching.

Potential 2026 Intensives:

1. Developing Aspiring Leaders

This module is designed for current team leaders to attend with one or more emerging leaders from their teams. Together, participants will assess leadership readiness, identify growth areas, and design personalized development pathways to equip emerging leaders for future roles. The focus is on mentorship, succession planning, and cultivating a pipeline of healthy leadership within cross-cultural teams.

2. Leadership from the Inside Out

Effective leadership begins with the heart. This module invites participants into a deep journey of self-awareness, spiritual formation, and emotional intelligence. Participants will examine their desires, motives, and internal narratives — and how these impact their leadership. The experience launches a year-long follow-up process in small, peer-led groups, fostering continued transformation and relational depth. Leaders leave better equipped to engage others with authenticity, empathy, and grace.

3. Field Team Leadership Fundamentals

In this highly practical module, leaders will be introduced to a proven, reproducible leadership framework that strengthens team clarity, cohesion, and resilience. Through case studies, interactive teaching, and peer coaching, participants will gain tools to proactively lead their teams, navigate challenges, and develop younger leaders — both expat and national.

4. Coaching Field Leaders

This module equips participants with practical coaching skills specifically tailored to the challenges faced by field leaders. More than just generic coaching models, the training explores context-sensitive approaches to ministry coaching, addresses the emotional and intercultural dynamics of fieldwork, and helps leaders create support structures for themselves and their teams. A specific coaching model is introduced, along with opportunities to practice and receive feedback.
