Summary

This book is “for every church looking to reach, teach, and disciple people from every background” (page xiii) who speak different languages and who need to be welcomed. To equip churches in facing the challenge of dealing with linguistic differences, the book gives demographic and theological reasons why multilingual churches are God’s idea and explores the most common approaches that churches use in language provision and language service. The author also presents the four steps in helping churches move toward becoming multilingual (vision, strategy, implementation, and maintenance), so that they can meet the language needs of its congregation and community. Finally, the book discusses how these steps can work out in the daily life of churches (beyond the Sunday services).
