2022 Missions Data Summary

2022 Missions Data

In 2022, Missio Nexus began a shift from a print publication of the Mission Handbook on North American Protestant Missions to a digital report. https://missionexus.org/missions-data/. This digital report represented data from the year 2021 from both Missio Nexus members and non-members across the North American Great Commission community. This year’s report has shifted slightly again with only garnering data from current Missio Nexus members. Our goal is that as we annually collect data from Missio Nexus members we will be able to study trends within our community in more detail.

The 2022 report of 2021 data was based on 208 members who were part of the 367 total participants. The 208 Missio Nexus members who were part of that report had approximately $2.8 billion in total income, 57,366 total staff with 7,263 working in home offices and 27,833 in long-term field ministry positions.

The 2023 report below represents the 2022 data of 118 of the current 394 Missio Nexus member agencies. Ninety less agencies reported data this year but still had $2.2 billion in income vs. $2.8 billion last year, and 34,504 total staff vs. 57,366 in the previous year.
