The North America Network Assembly is an opportunity for Vision 5:9 members and interested parties to learn about the state of the gospel in the Muslim world and identify how we can collaborate to see effective church planting efforts among all Muslim peoples.

Specifically, we will bring an update on the state of the Gospel among Muslims, a report from the large global consultation hosted by Vision 5:9 in October 2017 and a challenge to be involved in a global prayer and fasting initiative that has great potential to change the face of our work in the Muslim world.

We will then look at our three primary mandates listed below and discuss and plan, in small groups, how we can collaborate over these mandates.

1. Facilitate engagement and effective church planting among all Muslim peoples through the sharing of resources and fruitful practices.
2. Mobilize the global church to provide workers among Muslim peoples.
3. Monitor, assess, and report the progress of God’s Kingdom in the Muslim world to the greater glory of God.

The Short-Term Mission Standards Introductory Workshop (SIW) is conducted by leaders from the Board and staff of the Standards of Excellence in Short-Term Mission (SOE). It’s perfect for those seeking to fulfill an SOE Membership requirement,* for those exploring the possibility of joining SOE, or for those who just want to do an excellent job with their short-term missions! With an emphasis on mutual partnerships and long-term effectiveness, it will provide an overview of Maximum Impact Short-Term Mission Theory (MISTM), and will review each of the Seven Standards of STM best practice. For SOE members, this workshop will also help you understand how to form and manage your own Peer Review Team in order to achieve full SOE Accreditation. The workshop will be interactive, use case studies, and rely on dynamic small group discussions. Expect a lot of great learning in 24 hours, and also a lot of fun working together toward achieving excellence in all our STM endeavors!*The Short-Term Mission Standards Introductory Workshop (SIW) is a requirement for key personnel of SOE member organizations (churches, agencies and schools).

In these 5 hours, we’ll discuss not only specific obstacles to each of these 3 emphases but also hear from those who are having success pursuing and aligning them. We’ll be strong on case studies and stories which illustrate and instruct. Both Majority World and North American leaders will present.

During this 4-hour session, we’ll be forming a work-group and initiating the relaunch of the Missio Nexus Missionary Training Best Practices project that started in 2012 and then stalled out in 2014. With the advent of the new Missio Nexus Training Cohort, we are developing the relational capital to work together well on a unified document that addresses practices to be followed, current examples of that practice in action in the marketplace and in missions, evaluation tools for that practice and some practical steps for moving forward with establishing the practice.

This document will form the basis for workshops and events to be hosted by Missio Nexus in the future and perhaps even open doors for a standards of excellence mutual-accountability community to form in the future. The format for the day will be a work-group. Come prepared to talk and to plan!

This involves developing deep interpersonal relationships, doing missions while dancing, and enjoying food and celebration together. We will probe how to discover resilience in the hands of God, learn to embrace community and appreciate differences in culture and learning styles. How do Hispanics/Latinos perceive themselves? How do we connect with them, given the diversity of their cultures and different countries, ethnic groups and socio-economic contexts? Missionary candidates will often delay their preparation until they are on the field in these three areas: Language, evangelism, and social/cultural training. A wise and proactive sending church can help potential missionaries get started the right way. The era of waiting to be ‘immersed’ in language is over. What can the church do about it? Muslims are in our communities here at home already. Are we willing to send people to an Islamic mission field who have never shared the gospel with a Muslim before? If not, how can the church help them do that well? Often, missionaries to the Middle East are trained to say, “I don’t talk politics.” This strategy misses one of the greatest open doors to the heart of the gospel for modern Arabs. This seminar aims to equip the church to reorient pre-deployment expectations around growth in each of these three areas.

In this workshop we will explore the 7 Keys to Effective Global Engagement observed in churches that have been effectively mobilized to reach the nations. Latin Americans are crucial members of the Body of Christ and are also called to fulfill the church’s mission to reach the nations with the Gospel. In this workshop, you will see snapshots of the expanding mission vision among Latinos. How do we create equitable partnerships, where the relationships are horizontal and not vertical and where the power of decision-making is shared? How do we learn to cooperate together, where each member, in humility, esteems others above themselves? We will ask the difficult questions: Is the Anglo church ready to treat their Latin American brothers and sisters as full partners? What does partnership mean for a Latino, and what does it mean for an Anglo? How do we maximize the strengths and differences of each ethnic group in a biblical way while adapting expectations to reality? Should we expect tension as we grow, or should everything work smoothly? The Great Commission deserves answers to these questions.

In this relativistic culture, we are god and consumerism is our religion. Unfortunately, our evangelistic efforts are often presented within a framework that fails to connect with the presuppositions of a secular humanistic worldview.How can we respond to the growing worldview, lifestyle and moral gap that exists between the Church and secularized society? Millennials hate the label ‘millennials’ because, like everyone else, they long to be known and accepted. The church has an important role to play in mentoring, discipling and coaching this emerging group to fulfill their calling to the Great Commission. Listen to millennials, so that you will affirm their strengths. Listen to them, so that you can understand their weaknesses. Be patient and don’t challenge them prematurely to a higher calling – until you get to know them.   • The major challenge for multicultural interaction is recognizing cultural misunderstandings in order to better reflect biblical truth. Cultural misunderstandings affect every aspect of mission life and work. Ministry workers often mistake their way of doing things as Biblical rather than cultural and therefore they are reluctant to make changes. This session will introduce the reasons why people do things differently and is part of a Cultural Self Discovery workshop that enables ministry workers to identify their own culture in order to apply Biblical principles to further God’s kingdom. In the spirit of Matt. 10:16 and being “as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves,” this workshop will discuss biblical guiding principles for approaching risk, and how team leaders can reduce risk and prepare for on-field crises with excellence and appropriate concern, but not needless anxiety. We’ll explore planning for and responding to various types of events and emergencies.

  • Short attention spans, addiction to technology, and lack of interpersonal skills are a few of the descriptors used to describe teenagers and college students today.   • Are you a short-term mission leader, missions pastor, or organizational leader that sends or receives short-term teams? If so, are you prepared to manage a crisis event that may arise? We will discuss ways to be prepared in advance, as well as mitigate events that do occur. Transportation

Caribe Royale is approximately 22 miles from the Orlando International Airport ( 35 minutes travel time).

For ground transportation between the airport and hotel we recommend CityOne Xpress. CityOne Xpress will group reservations to create a shared ride wherever possible, BUT you will only be sharing with other guests coming to the Mission Leader’s Conference. Unlike the other shuttle services in the area, CityOne will go directly from the airport to the Caribe Royal – our conference hotel. How do I get my discount code if I am a SOE or NAAMC Member/Affiliate?
To receive your special rate, you must have the designated discount code from your organization. The Missio Nexus office cannot distribute the discount code.
I have already registered for Partnership but would like to register for an Add-on session. Is it too late?
No. It is not too late. You will need to go through the registration process again, select any Add-ons you wish, and pay at that time.
Why does registration cost more for those not staying at the Caribe Royale?
The Caribe Royale offers discounted meeting space based on the number of guest rooms our attendees reserve. We try to pass that savings on to those who are making that discounted space possible.
How can I become a sponsor or exhibitor at Partnership?

Which meals are provided during conference?
Conference registration includes dinner on Thursday and lunch and dinner on Friday as well as breaks as indicated in the conference schedule. Breakfast is on your own.
Can I request a special diet?
We are happy to be able to provide the following restricted diets: gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy/casein-free, and pork-free. You will be asked to indicate this when you register. Please let us know if you have a serious medical condition that involves certain foods. We will do our best to accommodate you you. Are there other restaurants where I can eat?
The Caribe Royale is equipped with a variety of dining options from formal to casual for meals before and after the conference or for breakfast which is not included in the conference registration. See Dining Information Here In addition to this, there are other casual dining options within walking distance of the Caribe Royale.
Why do you require my phone number during registration?
Your contact information will not be given out or shared with others. This information does help us generate your QR code for use in the conference app which enables easy communication between conference goers. Through settings in the conference app, you may choose what information you share or hide.
How do I contact someone who I think is attending the conference?
The conference app is your best friend. In addition to a host of other information, the “Attendees” module of the app will list all those attendees at conference along with their contact information unless an attendee has chosen to hide this information. Look for the conference app to go live the beginning of September.
What are the available room types at the Caribe Royale?
The Caribe Royale has Standard King and Double Queen rooms available at the conference group rate of $119/night. In addition, they have Villas that can accommodate 4+ individuals. Villas can be reserved for $219/night. This is based on up to 4 individuals. Additional adults are $15 each.
I lost my Ipad. How do I do I find it?

Where can I hold an impromptu meeting with my team?
The Caribe Royale has various options for casual meeting space. Consider meeting at one of the numerous tables that can be found throughout the hotel- in the lobby, by the pool or throughout the conference center itself.
How can I obtain handouts and other presentation materials for those workshops I am attending?
For those workshops providing handouts, they can be found in the documents module of the conference app as well as on our website. We post these as they become available but our goal is to have them available by September 6th. 
Will I be able to purchase recordings of the plenary and workshop sessions?
EGAMI A/V will be recording plenary and workshop sessions at this years conference.  As in the past, these recordings will be available for purchase during the conference as well as afterwards. In addition, these recordings will be made available on the Missio Nexus website after conference.  (Please understand that occasionally speakers request to not be recorded due to the sensitive nature of their topic or their ministry.)
Will there be a conference bookstore?
Yes. WorldChristian.com, operated by Paul Filidis, will be located in the Exhibit Hall and will be open during conference hours, except during dinners and General Sessions. If titles run out or are not available at the bookstore, Paul will accept orders to ship after the conference.
