During a visit to South Asia, Tim,[i] the director of an international missions organization, struck up a conversation with the couple sitting next to him during breakfast at his hotel. Early on, Joanne and David asked him, “Why are you here?”
Tim’s reply was unexpected. He told them he was in town to educate people about fertility planning. “The topic seemed to resonate with them at a core level of their person and marriage,” Tim recalls. “They told me they live in a culture that places a high value on having a child. It is the basis for their future when they grow old.”
