JAARS is actively seeking a candidate to develop and lead a multi-disciplined engineering team. As Director of Engineering you will lead a team in developing solutions and products addressing unique transportation, power, and communications challenges faced by JAARS staff and partners working at the Last Mile of Missions.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead R&D and engineering teams developing transportation, power, and communication solutions so ministry workers thrive in hard-to-reach remote locations
- Implement project and product strategies in collaboration with executive leaders and peer leaders
- Work with Business Development to transition R&D and engineering projects and prototypes into commercial products
- Grow the engineering team by recruiting experienced professionals and recent college graduates
- Mentor and coach recent college graduates and experienced professionals to ensure a God-honoring, professional engineering culture
Position Requirements
- A deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal spiritual growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth
- Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS
- 5+ years of product design and development experience
- 3+ years of technical leadership / management experience
- Strategic thinker with creative and innovative problem-solving skills
- Engineering or related technical degree required
