Freedom to Lead International ® (FTL) is a young, growing ministry that develops national church leaders in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Leaders from other areas of the world have requested to participate in FTL’s program, and they are being added as FTL’s capacity for program delivery expands.
General Description
The Executive Assistant provides executive support in a working relationship with the FTL Team, reporting directly to the CEO. The Executive Assistant may also serve as an administrative liaison to the FTL Board of Directors; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and external relations efforts; and oversees special projects. The Executive Assistant needs to be creative and enjoy working within a small team that is mission-driven and community-oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. He or she needs to be able to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
This will begin as a part-time role (15-20 hours per week). It has the potential to develop into a full-time role.

Qualifications
· Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail
· Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners, and donors
· High quality written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work in a virtual environment
· Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be very effective independently
· Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
· Teachable, willing to be developed in various skills
Educational and Experience Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Experience and interest in internal and external communications, partnership development, and fundraising
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point), Google Drive, and web-based platforms
· Design experience with online software (such as Canva) would be beneficial, but a willingness to learn even more so
· Nonprofit or church leadership experience not required, but helpful
Primary Responsibilities
Personal
● Maintain personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
● Model a healthy personal life (spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational).
Executive Support
· Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks including: managing the FTL Google Calendar; completing expense reports; composing and preparing correspondence that is sometimes confidential; arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas; and compiling documents for travel-related meetings.
· Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO, including those of a sensitive or confidential nature
· Provides leadership to build relationships crucial to the success of the organization, and manages a variety of special projects for the CEO, some of which may have organizational impact.
· Successfully completes critical aspects of deliverables with a hands-on approach, including drafting acknowledgement letters, personal correspondence, and other tasks that facilitate the CEO’s ability to effectively lead the ministry.
· Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.
· Maintains FTL files online and on an external drive
FTL Team Support
· Participates as a member of the FTL Staff and FTL Global Team, including assisting in scheduling meetings, attending meetings, and taking notes for the meetings.
· Provides logistical support for team travel, including when the Global Team comes to the U.S.
Communications
· Assists in written communications, including execution of FTL’s weekly Prayer email
· Provide copy-editing for external publications
· Edits and completes first drafts for written communications to external stake holders
· Assists in correspondence with donors and partners
Curriculum
· Manages the FTL Program Curriculum of The Garden Project
(this is a developmental role)
Board Support
· Serves as the CEO’s administrative liaison to Freedom to Lead’s Board of Directors
· Assists board members with travel arrangements, lodging, and meal planning during FTL’s Annual Face-to-Face Board Meeting
· Maintains discretion and confidentiality in relationships with all board members
· Adhere to compliance with applicable rules and regulations set in bylaws regarding board and board committee matters, including advance distribution of materials before meetings in electronic/paper format.
Pre-Requisites
● Demonstrates biblical character traits including integrity, humility, and simplicity.
● Aligns with FTL’s Christ-centered leadership values.
● Agrees with and signs the FTL Statement of Faith, the Life Together Commitment (LTC), and the FTL Mission, Culture, and Program document.
Other Notes
· It is preferable that he or she resides in the U.S.
· Everyone on the U.S. Staff works from home and we communicate virtually. However, if you live outside of the Raleigh, NC area, you may need to travel every two months for face-to-face time with the team.
· There may be opportunity for the Executive Assistant to travel internationally with the team from time to time. While the inability to travel internationally will not impede one being hired, it would provide a valuable asset to the team.
