Pulling from her world as a professional counselor and filmmaker, Kristin will walk you through how to craft a purposeful storyteller list, conduct insightful Discovery Interviews and ultimately how to choose the best storyteller for your initiative. Great storytelling is formulaic, fun and it doesnʼt have to be a shot in the dark! Letʼs explore this world together and help you find your next storyteller.
Presenter: Kristin Sukraw is a professional storyteller, executive producer at StoryFind Films, author of StoryFind: the Handbook for Finding and Telling Your Nonprofit’s Most Impactful Stories, licensed mental health practitioner and national speaker. She has worked with organizations such as Homes for Our Troops, International Rescue Committee and Conquer Cancer to bring their stories to life and help them accomplish their fundraising goals.
She began her career as a mental health counselor, but soon found herself leading the charge for trauma-informed storytelling practices in nonprofit organizations. In the past decade, she has helped hundreds of individuals give voice to their own stories all while helping nonprofits achieve their storytelling goals while taking great care of their storytellers. When not on the road interviewing or speaking, Kristin lives in the great state of Nebraska (while enjoying frequent trips to Disney World) with her husband, young daughter and black fluff cat, Lily.
