Toni McEwan (Senior Associate/Slingshot Group)
Succession Planning for the Leadership Team
With 20 years of corporate experience working for a global multi-national company, Toni brings her expertise to the Nonprofit Division at Slingshot Group. Having served on nonprofit boards for over 10 years both in the US and UK, she is passionate about seeing organizations thrive through leadership alignment and mission clarity.
Toni began her career in sales in 2001 and then spent 10 years in strategic and product marketing roles across multiple industries around the world. In 2013, a once and a lifetime career opportunity presented itself and she and her family moved to England for four years where Toni served as Managing Director for the UK & Ireland business. Prior to joining Slingshot Group, Toni most recently led a global team of 100 individuals as Director of HR/Operations for a $14B agriculture company.
Throughout her career, Toni has faithfully served in the local church leading discipleship groups, teaching kids ministry, and mentoring young female leaders.
Toni loves to travel both domestically and internationally having visited over 20 countries. She is a fitness instructor, loves hiking, and exploring new places with her husband, Rob, and their adventurous daughter. Toni and her family live in Longmont, Colorado and serve at LifeBridge Christian Church.

Prior to partnering with The Table Group, Shawn worked for large, global nonprofits in leadership development and innovation. Having earned his doctorate in Global Leadership with an emphasis on innovation, Shawn knows that the true innovative advantage is organizational health – cohesion and clarity. Shawn and his wife, Shayna, have two children and live in Orlando, Florida.
Michael VanHuis (Executive Director, Missio Nexus)

Michael VanHuis serves as the Executive Director of Missio Nexus. He and his wife Laura have served as field missionaries in Ghana, West Africa and in international and home office leadership with Pioneers. He has also served as the mission’s pastor and chief of staff at Northland Church. Prior to coming to Missio Nexus he managed a private family foundation and served as Vice President for OneWay Ministries. Michael is passionate about leadership and helping to liberate leaders and organizations to reach their full potential.
Michael holds a Masters in Global Leadership from Fuller School of Intercultural Studies. He is an avid reader, serves as an Elder at his local church, and loves to be outdoors. He and his wife Laura live in Aurora, IL and have five children.
