GlobalFingerprints, the child sponsorship and church planting ministry of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), is seeking a part‑time Social Media Coordinator to help maintain a consistent, engaging, and mission‑centered presence across its social platforms. This role supports the Communications Team by executing the social media strategy, deploying scheduled content, monitoring platforms, and engaging with the online community.

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the daily and weekly execution of the social media strategy, primarily focusing on content deployment, platform monitoring, and community engagement, with optional content ideas and creation. This part-time role supports the Communications team by maintaining a consistent and engaging presence across all designated platforms.

Reports To: Communications Manager
Time Commitment: Part-Time (estimated at 10+ hours per month)

Required Qualifications

  • Current knowledge and demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, including trends and best practices
  • Comfortable utilizing technology for remote work and content management
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative self-starter
  • Willing to learn and use Monday.com project management software
  • Strong commitment to raising personal financial support to cover salary and ministry expenses.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Execution & Scheduling

  • Execute the content calendar as provided by the Director of Communications.
  • Oversee the scheduling and posting of all social media content, aligning with content calendar deadlines, ensuring timely and accurate deployment across channels.
  • Help generate ideas for various content formats, including short-form text, visuals and video reels.
  • Provide support in writing short-form content, captions and posts as needed.
  • Provide suggestions on type of content, serial content and current social media trends.

2. Community Engagement & Monitoring

  • Regularly check direct messages (DMs) and respond as appropriate, sending any issues to the Communications Manager.
  • Apply current knowledge of social media trends, optimal posting times, and platform-specific best practices to maximize engagement.

3. Operations & Teamwork

  • Comfortably use technology for remote work and content posting.
  • Be a collaborative and self-starting team member.
  • Learn and use Monday.com project management software for workflow tracking and scheduling.
