A Brief Overview

This role seeks to actively mobilize qualified Career Staff, Short-Term Staff, and Short-Term Volunteers to meet MAF’s personnel needs, as an essential part of the work of MAF so that the Gospel is proclaimed and God’s Kingdom is extended.

Essential Duties

Develop and grow opportunities to communicate the ministry of MAF within his/her region with a goal of seeking new MAF staff.

  • Understands and communicates MAF’s history, culture, programs, structure, operations & financial systems, and policies.
  • Walks alongside potential candidates as they explore God’s call on their life for missions and MAF.
  • Plans and implements personal mobilization trips to strategic aviation training programs, colleges with IT and education programs, building relationships with department heads at schools, and developing opportunities to present MAF.
  • In collaboration with Events Manager and Advocates, organizes their own and MAF’s wider involvement and participates in fly-ins (AOPA, Oshkosh, SunNFun), job fairs, mission’s events (Urbana, CROSS.), homeschool conventions, etc.
  • Travels, speaks, gives presentations, visits in homes in order to accomplish the necessary sharing of MAF’s ministry and engaging with prospective candidates.
  • Maintains and expands contact base for recruiting efforts.

Effectively engaging and encouraging contacts, moving them toward MAF Career and Short-Term Staff application, and completing CRM records and tasks.

  • Responds to inquiries and requests for information in a timely fashion.
  • Documents candidate Interactions and completes CRM tasks in a timely manner.
  • Conducts interviews and prescreens prospective applicants.
  • Coaches, advises, and encourages prospective applicants.
  • Submits monthly reports of activities and communication with candidates.
  • Keeps informed regarding current MAF policies and programs.

Mobilization department tasks

  • Assists the Recruiting Manager in the evaluation and implementation of strategies and activities to enhance departmental effectiveness.
  • Assists, encourages, and serves other departments as appropriate.
  • Manages the allocated budget for their region including monthly tracking and reporting.
  • Attends semi-annual mobilization meetings.
  • Engages with Mobilization’s Social Media Coordinator to create marketing material in line with recruiting strategy.
  • Stays informed of ministry opportunities with MAF and understand MAF’s ministry around the world.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies course work preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years experience in a related field preferred
  • 2 years mission field experience preferred.

  • Communication – Competent in communicating via various mediums. (multiple social media apps, text, Zoom, Teams, email, phone)
  • Oral/Written Communication – Possess quality digital, writing and communication skills, including social media skills.
  • Creativity – Finds new avenues to accomplish objectives.
  • Interpersonal Awareness – Comfortable building relationships with people of all backgrounds and demographics, Understands the interests and important concerns of others, after reasonable exposure, can articulate the strengths and limitations of people.

Skills

  • Advanced skill in computer/word processing
  • Advanced ability in various media platforms
  • Advanced ability in building relationships and connecting with people of different backgrounds, including individuals early in their career.
  • Knowledge/understanding of field Aviation environment and requirements.

The Total Rewards package increases the base salary by an average of ~$35,000 per staff member.
