Communications and Media Manager

About Safir Global Training
Safir Global Training is committed to preparing global workers for effective cross-cultural service. Our mission is to equip and transform individuals so they are thoroughly prepared, deployed with joyful endurance, and focused on the vital work of establishing churches among the nations. Based in Western Asia, Safir offers a unique 8-month immersive training program that integrates rigorous biblical teaching with essential skills for ministry longevity, such as language and culture acquisition.

Built on a foundation of mentorship from experienced field workers, Safir provides the missiological clarity and resilience needed to thrive in global ministry. Originally established in 2022, Safir transitioned to a standalone independent enterprise in January 2026. Following successful graduating classes in 2024 and 2025, and with our April 2026 graduation in view, Safir will have equipped 70 global workers for the field. Enrollment is currently underway for our next cohort beginning in August 2026. Because we view ourselves as a vital support to the local churches and mission agencies who entrust us with their students, we place a high value on these partnerships. Together, we strive to ensure every worker is empowered to step into their calling with humble confidence and God-dependent commitment.

Role Summary

Safir Global Training is entering an exciting new era as a recently independent organization and is looking for a key individual to build and manage our communication function. The desired candidate will develop and execute a holistic communication strategy across multiple platforms (email, social, website, webinar, conferences) that aligns with the vision, values, and long-term goals of the organization. In addition to developing strategies, this individual will be responsible for hands-on execution. While we value professional expertise, we are equally committed to your growth; we provide missiological coaching and cultural orientation to ensure you are fully equipped to navigate and communicate within our unique global context.

Core Responsibilities

Communications Strategy and Brand Voice

  • Strategic Oversight: Manage the overall strategy and creation of Safir’s external “voice” across all platforms.
  • Audience Engagement: Partner with Marketing to build communications that move target audiences into deeper levels of involvement.
  • Development Support: Play a key role in crafting and applying appropriate communications for fundraising initiatives.

Content Creation and Resource Development

  • Digital Content: Develop strategies and create engaging content for all social media platforms.
  • Email Marketing: Design customer email engagement strategies and execute regular communications.
  • Promotional Collateral: Create advertising materials that clearly deliver Safir’s messaging to pre-defined audiences.
  • Multi-Media Support: Provide script writing for promotional videos and technical/content support for webinars.
  • Publication Management: Plan and coordinate written material from staff and guests for the website and other platforms.
  • Content Repurposing: Adapt existing curriculum into micro-content for alternate digital uses.
  • Mobilization Tools: Develop resource kits (slide decks, talking points, and literature) to help individuals advocate for Safir within their networks.

Required Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • Strategic Background: Proven experience building communication strategies and crafting deliverables in a start-up or lean environment.
  • Platform Proficiency: High level of skill in managing email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), including automation and list segmentation.
  • Channel Expertise: Deep knowledge of how specific messages are best tailored and delivered on various digital platforms.
  • Engagement History: A successful track record of managing social media platforms and community engagement on behalf of an organization.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional writing skills and the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, compelling prose.

Desired Characteristics

  • Spiritually Mature: Demonstrates a consistent spiritual life and a deep-seated commitment to seeing the gospel reach every nation and people group.
  • Missiologically Attuned: Demonstrates a desire to learn the nuances of global mission terminology and shows a natural sensitivity toward communicating across different cultural contexts.
  • Energetic: Approaches work with a high level of vitality and a hopeful, optimistic outlook that inspires others even during complex projects.
  • Self-Directed: Thrives in an environment with minimal oversight by prioritizing high-impact tasks and meeting deadlines consistently.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ensures all communications are accurate, professional, and polished, maintaining a high standard of excellence in every deliverable.
  • Resilient: Views obstacles as opportunities for growth and innovation, remaining flexible when strategies need to pivot.
  • Collaborative: Prioritizes collective success over individual recognition and actively contributes to a healthy, supportive office culture.
  • Proactive: Anticipates future needs and takes initiative to address them before they become urgent issues or missed opportunities.

Partnership & Commitment

  • Faith & Ministry Alignment: As a key member of the global Safir staff, the successful candidate must possess a mature Christian faith, sufficiently align with and support our doctrinal statements, and maintain active involvement in a local church.
  • Employment & Secondment Options: We welcome candidates who are currently affiliated with other mission agencies and are open to secondment (loaned staff) agreements. Alternatively, candidates may be hired directly by Safir Global Training.
  • Support-Based Role: Regardless of the employment structure, this is a support-based position. The candidate will be responsible for developing or maintaining a team of prayer and financial partners to cover salary, benefits, and ministry expenses.
  • Term & Commitment: This position is available immediately through June 2027; however, we are looking for candidates open to a long-term, full-time partnership as we grow.
  • Location & Flexibility: This position may be performed remotely from anywhere in the world provided the individual has a reliable high-speed internet connection and can overlap with the Western Asia time zone (UTC+4) for two hours during our standard workday in Western Asia (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM). Or it can be based on-site in Western Asia where Safir will provide local orientation, and the candidate will have a distinct advantage for capturing live content and vignettes of the training lab in action. Regardless of work location, the candidate must be willing and able to travel to Western Asia to meet staff and observe the training center in action.
  • Supervision & Collaboration: You will be a key member of our Operations Team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations while collaborating closely with our Marketing, Fundraising, and Program teams to ensure unified messaging.
  • Resourcing: Safir Global Training provides coaching and administrative frameworks to assist staff in mobilizing their partnership teams.
  • Further Details: A detailed breakdown of the support-raising process and estimated budget requirements for Western Asia will be provided upon formal inquiry.
