*JAARS Avionics Technician

Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics and electrical equipment helps make Bible translation and language development possible by keeping mission aircraft communications and navigation systems airworthy.

Position Responsibilities

• You will install, inspect, service, and repair avionics equipment in a variety of general aviation aircraft in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
• Set up and operate test equipment to maintain avionics, flight, and navigation systems
• Assemble components, such as electrical controls and junction boxes, and install software
• Repair or replace malfunctioning components
• Maintain documentation of repair work
• Keep abreast technological and industry advancements
• Maintain a knowledge of regulatory and industry maintenance standards

Education and Experience

• An Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License in Airframe, Electrical, Instrument, or Radio, or an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) or certification from other industry recognized organizations such as, but not limited to, International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) or National Center for Aerospace & Transportation Technologies (NCATT)
