OVERVIEW
The purpose of a Community Outreach Team Member is to work at evangelism, discipleship, and building relationships in Clarkston. This person will not have the intense role with dedicated time with students, but is expected to be open to work with the students as the Community Outreach Team Member is working in the community. This ministry position is part or full-time and support-raising is required. The Community Outreach Team Member can work on-site and from home. This role is based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Spread the gospel of Christ throughout the Clarkston community and develop new believers into mature followers of Christ.
– Build relationships with internationals in the community of Clarkston.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values. and statement of faith
– Must have a sense of calling from God towards this position and a willingness to persevere through hard times (Rom 1:6; 1 Cor 1:1)
– Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture (2 Tim 3:16-17; Col 3:16-17)
– Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others (Eph 4:15)
– Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking (Heb 10:24-25)
– Must function well both independently and in a team environment (1 Cor 12:25-26)
– Must attend GFM’s intensive 5-month Missionary Training School (in person or online) or equivalent training or 5+ years of experience in cross-cultural ministry as well as continuing education
– Must be licensed or ordained as a minister
– Must be able use or learn internal communications and technology systems (Email, Google Drive, Slack, Salesforce, etc.)
– Must have skills in leading, managing, and coaching others through servant leadership
– Must be willing to be a “Paul” to other “Timothys” that want to grow in missions experience by modeling, assisting, watching, and launching others into ministry
– Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM’s Missionary Training School (in person sessions or online)
