Missio Nexus Innovation Fund: Elevating Missions Excellence
From 2023-2025 the Missio Nexus Innovation Fund, was a pioneering initiative created to propel member ministries into uncharted realms of evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. The fund was committed to nurturing innovation and providing ministries with the means to effect enduring change.

NOTE: All applicants were Missio Nexus members, having a US or CA registered non-profit and may only apply for one type of grant, and only one grant per organization.

Grant Categories:
Micro Innovation Grant:
- Funding Range: $25,000 – $50,000
- Tailored for smaller, impactful projects with a keen emphasis on innovation.
- Prioritized meticulously planned initiatives demonstrating empathy for ministry impact.
- Awarded to approximately 9 Missio Nexus member ministries.

Macro Innovation Grant:
- Funding Range: $50,000 – $75,000
- Geared towards ministries with a well-established innovation process, showcasing iterative attempts at deploying practical solutions.
- Emphased on illustrating and articulating the innovation process and quantifying end-user impact.
- Held the potential to influence the broader missions landscape.
- Exclusive grants awarded to 4 Missio Nexus member ministries.

Collaborative Innovation Grant:
- Funding Range: $75,000 – $100,000
- Encouraged joint applications from 2+ mission ministries, showcasing unity and collaboration.
- Required a proven working model of collaboration rather than a conceptual alliance.
- Focused on demonstrating a collective approach to an innovative idea.
- A prestigious grant awarded to outstanding alliances displaying both unity and innovation. Awareded to 1 or 2 Missio Nexus member agencies.

Process:
Each grant request was considered by a review team consisting of mission leaders from the Missio Nexus association and Missio Nexus staff. Grant finalists were subject to final approval by the grant funding entity.
Status:
As of the fall of 2025 the Innovation Fund has been put on hold in agreement with our donor. We will continue to be a catalyst for innovative thought and practice within the mission community, and will perhaps re-open the fund at a later date.
