Every now and then someone we don’t know from an area we’ve not visited sends a check. We have no idea who they are or how they heard of us. We send a thank you, and sometimes try to find a way to connect with them through phone or email. That has never worked.

If the check came from a financial institution e.g. a Donor Advised Fund or IRA trustee, perhaps connecting with the financial institution could provide info. on the donor. However, sometimes donors just want to be anonymous — in which case, thank the Lord for this blessing.😇

I remember once receiving an unexpected gift from somebody. Our team decided to visit in person. The result of that visit was a many-years relationship with a major donor. That first gift was a test to see if we would reach out in in person.
