Building and Leading Diverse and Effective Mobilization Teams

God is calling men and women, emerging generations, people of color, and those from a variety of backgrounds to go with mission agencies into the nations. How can mission organizations intentionally build and lead excellent mobilization teams that look like and relate well to this diversity of potential mission candidates? This event will tackle how to develop fruitful, results-oriented mobilization teams. We will explore together how to bring on board, equip, and lead mobilization teams that will find, nurture, and launch the diversity of goers needed for today’s global missions enterprise.

The primary audience for this event is Mobilization Directors and affiliated Mobilization leaders.

• How to Onboard and Train our Mobilizers
• How to Strengthen and Sustain our Mobilizers with Healthy Rhythms
• How to Unify and Lead our Mobilization Teams to Work Well Together
• How to Ensure Mob Team Fruitful Results with Goals and Accountability

Ron and Star Nelson are the founders of Sowing Seeds of Joy. A mission mobilizing and training ministry created to connect the hearts of people to the heart of God. Their goals are to empower church leaders and believers through discipleship, consultation, and cross-cultural missions training, all meant to advance the Kingdom of God.

Ron is a minister of the Gospel, a graduate of Florida State University, a former world-class sprinter, police officer, US federal agent, and missions director at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship where Dr. Tony Evans is the senior pastor. He currently serves as the board chair of Missio Nexus. Star, also a graduate of FSU, was the first African American to serve as captain of an FSU cheerleading squad. She’s a former Internal Revenue agent, business owner, and retired postmaster of 32-years. Ron and Star have coordinated, trained, and led hundreds of short-term missions teams since 1998, traveling and serving considerably in global missions. Ron is a leader and encourager; Star is a strong administrator and advocate for women. Married for 41 years, they have two children and four grandchildren.

Mark Stebbins has been on staff with Navigators for 40 years, including 10 years in Ghana. He served 12 years as Director for Short-term Missions and Director for International Mobilization and Recruitment for the U.S. Navigators. He currently serves as Missions Director for the U.S. Collegiate Navigators. He is also a Mission Advisor with Missio Nexus for Mobilization.
