Manages & Develops: marketing, communications, donor engagement, communications and media production (processes, activities, vendors and volunteers)
Peers: Operations Manager; Global Programming Director

Equip & Grow is an international Christian ministry with 20+ dedicated staff and over 100 passionate volunteers in 14 countries dedicated to equipping children’s ministry leaders around the world so that more children can connect to God’s Word.
We develop culturally relevant curriculum, training programs, and coaching systems that serve local churches and ministry leaders across Latin America, Brazil, India, Africa, and other developing regions. Through strong partnerships and local adaptation, we help teachers and leaders disciple children with clarity, creativity, and biblical truth.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Manager leads Equip & Grow’s communications, testimonials, storytelling, donor engagement, communication systems, tools and strategies – ensuring that the ministry’s voice is authentic, inspiring, culturally and globally resonant. This person strengthens donor relationships, expands awareness, and mobilizes support through creative storytelling, effective marketing, and strategic use of digital and social media platforms. This role partners closely with the Executive Director to shape and execute communication strategy.
The ideal candidate is a thoughtful communicator and creative storyteller who combines marketing insight, cultural awareness, and ministry passion. They will shape the organization’s voice and brand across digital platforms, donor communications, events, and presentations—helping Equip & Grow grow our reach and impact for the Kingdom.
This role may be ideal for either an experienced nonprofit marketing professional seeking part-time impact work, or a developing leader with strong communication skills and a desire to grow in ministry marketing.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Donor Engagement & Communications
Strengthen donor relationships through meaningful, mission-centered communication.
- Lead the creation and execution of donor communication strategies – including newsletters, fundraising updates, emails, social media posts, written cards, leadership / board member letters and annual reports.
- Partner with the Executive Director to craft compelling donor appeals, gratitude campaigns, fund-raising initiatives, impact stories, etc.
- Ensure consistent messaging and tone across all donor touchpoints (email, print, social, website, presentations, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure donor records and reporting are accurate and aligned with communications.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
Drive engagement, inspiration, mobilization and visibility through effective content and campaign management.
- Plan, create, and publish content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) aligned with ministry priorities.
- Develop a social media calendar and content strategy that reflects Equip & Grow’s values and impact. (Phase 1)
- Provide content guidance and collaborate with technical partners to ensure donor-facing messaging remains current and aligned.
- Ensure the donor facing website connects well across to the international websites and audiences.
Storytelling & Testimonials (“Voices from the Field”)
Capture and share stories of impact from around the world.
- Collect and curate testimonials, field updates, photos, and videos from staff and volunteers globally.
- Edit and adapt stories for multiple formats (web, email, print, video, social).
- Maintain a story library organized by country, theme, and ministry impact. Follow up on how stories evolve over time.
- Ensure storytelling reflects cultural sensitivity, accuracy, and dignity of those served.
- Select stories that inspire action and are authentic to the ministry and mission.
Event & Presentation Development
Elevate ministry visibility and engagement through creative events and presentations.
- Support the Executive Director in developing materials for conferences, speaking engagements, board meetings and donor presentations.
- Design visuals, slide decks, videos, and print collateral for ministry events.
Coordinate event communication plans, including invitations, follow-up, and post-event storytelling. - Support fundraising or awareness events through marketing and promotional strategy.
Brand Stewardship & Collaboration
Ensure consistency and excellence in how the Equip & Grow brand is expressed.
- Maintain brand guidelines and ensure alignment across all communications.
- Provide templates, tools, and coaching to international staff to maintain brand integrity.
- Collaborate with program, operations, and translation teams to ensure marketing and communications support their work.
- Stay current with nonprofit marketing trends and best practices, applying insights to enhance engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS / JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Experience in marketing, social media, or communications, ideally in a faith-based or nonprofit context; — or demonstrated ability to lead content strategy and donor engagement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in donor communications, storytelling, and content strategy.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Meta Business Suite: Instagram & Facebook, Canva, WordPress, Adobe Indesign, Whats App, Tik Tok, Google Analytics).
- Clear and concise written and verbal communications and editing skills with ability to adapt tone and style for multiple audiences.
- Fluent in English; ability to also speak a second language is preferred.
- Culturally astute and able to represent stories and voices with dignity and sensitivity.
- Graphic design and video editing experience is a plus.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and time zones.

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%).
