Building a Shared Foundation for Cross Cultural Workers

May 7 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm EDT

Virtual Event
Free – $24.95
Hands reaching out to build trust among cross-cultural workers.

A paradigm shift has begun! We are moving away from a responsive model of care and development towards a more holistic model. To navigate this shift, we want to invite you to explore why a shared foundation is essential for strengthening collaboration in People Care & Development.

Together, we’ll look at the challenges of working without common guidelines—and how a unified framework can transform the way we serve.
We’ll guide you through research-backed Thrive Outcomes that help define what it truly means for cross-cultural workers to flourish.
We’ll also engage in a meaningful conversation about the future of People Care & Development Certification.

Who Is this For?

This webinar is for you if you want to better understand the need for shared foundations—and if you are helping lead change toward a more holistic approach to care and development in your organization. We especially invite you to join if you serve as a caregiver, people developer, or organizational leader, or if you’re simply looking for research-backed clarity to strengthen how you think about and practice care and development.

Presenters

Kimberly Drage: Kimberly brings over 18 years of cross-cultural field experience in Southeast Asia & Scotland alongside a strong research background in Human Resource Management. Her work is shaped by a deep passion for missionary member care from a holistic, organizational perspective, grounded in firsthand insight into how organizational practices directly impact mental health and well-being. Committed to the flourishing of cross-cultural workers, Kimberly integrates research and lived experience to advocate for evidence-informed approaches to care and development. She seeks to inspire meaningful conversation and equip practitioners, organizational leaders, and workers themselves with tools that support thriving in the midst of service and finishing well.

Vern Salter: I bring over 36 years of experience as a vocational Christian worker, serving both in the U.S. and overseas. Having personally received care during seasons of crisis, I deeply value both the “below the waterline” work of counseling and the “at the waterline” practices of soul care, relational reconciliation, and cultivating healthy rhythms in ministry. With an MA in Clinical Counseling from Colorado Christian University, I integrate pastoral insight with professional training to support the holistic well-being of cross-cultural workers. As Director of Care at MTI, I work to ensure that agency partners and their staff are equipped to thrive through a well-resourced, collaborative approach to care and development, while also supporting the MTI team. I am married to Janell and have three adult children.
