JOB SUMMARY:
SEND International is seeking a passionate Missions Coach to partner with local churches in mobilizing their members for global missions. This position plays a vital role in equipping individuals and churches for intentional engagement in cross-cultural ministry. The ideal candidate would be someone with an ENTP personality type, an Enneagram 8, or strengths aligned with the StrengthsFinder assessment. As a Missions Coach, you will represent the mission and values of SEND International while empowering others to fulfill the Great Commission.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Missionary Candidate Coaching
- Provide godly and practical coaching to those currently moving towards being sent cross-culturally.
- Assess missionary candidates’ spiritual maturity and readiness for cross-cultural service with SEND International.
- Guide candidates through SEND’s application process, ensuring they connect with the right opportunities within SEND or partnering agencies.
- Nurture, interview, and assess candidates as they move toward training and deployment.
Church Partnerships
- Establish, multiply, and nurture relationships with church leaders, mission advocates, and mission networks to increase support and sending of missionaries through SEND International.
- Understand and address the unique needs of local churches in sending and supporting missionaries.
- Equip and support local church leadership to coach and assess missionary candidates.
- Resource and assist churches in mobilizing their members toward cross-cultural missions.
Collaboration and Networking
- Discover ongoing ways to increase the number of quality leads coming to SEND.
- Collaborate with SEND teams and partners to identify and match field opportunities with candidates and their sending churches.
- Stay informed about SEND’s field needs, opportunities, and mobilization procedures.
- Represent SEND International effectively in both individual and group settings.
Administration
- Coordinate logistics for travel, events, vision trips, and other activities.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of activities, communications, and interactions with contacts.
- Track key details related to scheduling, budgets, mobilization events, and follow-up actions.
Continuous Learning
- Develop and enhance core competencies for the Missions Coach role through ongoing learning.
- Gain a deep understanding of the unique opportunities, challenges, and needs of various cross-cultural fields, teams, and contexts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Successfully completed an undergraduate degree with a preferred focus in Religion/Missions and/or Communications and Recruitment. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of relevant work experience will be considered.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Effectively communicate the opportunity and privilege of global missions in individual and group settings.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in person, in writing, and on the phone.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with candidates, pastors, and church staff.
- Engage with pastors and church staff in the context of missionary mobilization, sending, and care.
- Sensitive to working in unity across different denominations and organizations.
Team Collaboration and Independent Work
- Contribute positively to the Mobilization Team through collaboration, encouragement, and shared workload.
- Actively engage in team meetings and activities.
- Function well independently and in team environments.
Organizational Skills
- Effectively manage a portfolio of pre-applicants and applicants to SEND.
- Assess and interview candidates through all stages of the mobilization process and for various lengths of service.
- Ask insightful and probing questions to evaluate readiness and fit for cross-cultural missions.
- Manage time and prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently.
Technical Proficiency
- Demonstrate proficiency with technology for communication, record-keeping, and task management.

- Alignment with SEND’s mission, visions, values and agreement with SEND’s Doctrinal Statement.
- Mature Christ-follower evidencing a vital walk with God and committed to lifelong growth.
- In fellowship with a Bible-believing church.
