Position Description 
We are seeking an individual with basic accounting skills, spreadsheet competency, and excellent customer service skills.

This position provides assistance to OMF members by processing requests for expense reimbursement, preparing journal entries for maintenance of member accounts, coordinating and reviewing member budgets, and providing financial customer service.  The Member Services Accountant also processes bank transfers, assists with yearend closing, and performs data review and validation for payroll.

Major Responsibilities 

Monthly and Quarterly Accounting

  • Validate and prepare accounts payable coding on vendor invoices for member services
  • Review and validate changes and additions submitted for payroll processing
  • Review overseas income for members and code for input in payroll processing
  • Perform electronic reports distribution to members

Ongoing

  • Review expense reports for accuracy, coding, documentation and compliance with policy and procedures
  • Resolve questions that arise from members
  • Prepare journal entries for member fund maintenance in the financial system
  • Prepare allocation of donation funds received from other OMF centers through a financial system buffer account
  • Process clearing entries for interoffice transfers in/out
  • Process and record international wire transfers
  • Monitor and handle member accounts receivable and fee collection
  • Assist with updates and maintenance of financial policies/procedures and finance training manuals
  • Cross-train and perform as back-up for departmental accounts payable and some payroll duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Seasonal

  • Assist with distribution and review of annual budgets for members
  • Assist with member account fund reallocations and preparing entries for year-end closing
  • Work paper preparation for annual audit
  • Volunteer Supervision
  • Provide resources, training and support to assigned volunteers
  • Provide ongoing coaching, fully utilizing quarterly update and annual survey tools

Qualifications 

  • Love for Jesus Christ and growing relationship with him
  • Passion for East Asia and reaching its peoples for God’s glory
  • Associate degree or certifications and training in accounting or finance
  • At least 5 years of accounting or finance experience
  • Expertise in MS Excel and Access, experience with MS Word
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail, task oriented
  • Team player, yet reliable and work independently
  • Problem solver

Compensation 
This is a 40 hour per week, full-time, non-exempt position. The salary for this position is needs-based, starting at $26.63 per hour. This can potentially be increased on a needs-basis for team members that are willing to develop a team of prayer and financial partners. (OMF will provide training and support to guide you through the partnership development process as needed.) Other full-time benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as generous PTO.
