JOB SUMMARY
The Marketing & Communications Assistant works closely with the VP of Marketing & Communications and expedites the flow of work through the Marketing & Communications team.
GOALS
This job exists to effectively communicate the vision and mission of Global Disciples through supporting the Marketing & Communications team in accomplishing team objectives.
DUTIES
- Undertake daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the Marketing & Communications team’s activities.
- Manage team calendars and other team communication.
- Manage inventory of promotional materials and books written by Global Disciples staff. Track book sales and distribution.
- Submit invoices from marketing vendors to the finance department and keep track of expenses related to the marketing budget.
- Prepare expense reports for the Vice President of Marketing & Communications.
- Compile data from market research.
- Assist the Vice President of Marketing & Communications with press release distribution and the dissemination of internal and external communications.
- Catalog Global Disciples story and video content submitted by our Global Disciples staff, in preparation for review by the Content Manager.
- Support Marketing Campaign Specialist in management of Monday.com.
- Support the Marketing & Communications Team through creating presentations, preparing simple designs in Canva, and creating graphs and tables.
- Serve as back-up receptionist for the front desk and answer phones as required.
Event Responsibilities:
- Work with Director of Events to coordinate, attend, and provide onsite event setup, stage management and breakdown of in-person donor events.
- Ensure event follow-up, including sending thank you letters and submitting expense reports.
- Collect and ship promotional materials for events and speaking engagements.
- Post events on relevant event sites.
- Assist Director of Events with preparation of event materials and seating charts.
- Set up iPads for event check-in.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of a Christian church.
- Strong project management skills.
- Passion for the mission and work of Global Disciples and alignment with its statement of faith, goals, purposes, and objectives.
- Outstanding relational, verbal, and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy.
- Self-starter, initiator who is organized and can relate detail to the overall picture.
- Adaptable and highly detailed.
- Experience in PowerPoint.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- SalesForce, Monday.com, HubSpot and Canto experience preferred.
Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Suite, ZOOM, social media platforms, and software-based contact management experience preferred.
