Is the UPG Paradigm the Only Way to Think About Missions?

May 9 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm EDT

Since its popularization surrounding the 1974 Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization, unreached people groups (UPG) have been the predominant framework for missiological thought and practice. However, by the early 2000’s missiologist Ralph Winter—often credited for introducing the paradigm—was himself reassessing its effectiveness. In a rapidly changing world, is prioritizing our efforts solely on the basis of people groups the only form of faithful missions engagement? In this webinar Nathan and Bradley will celebrate the virtue of UPG missiology, wrestle with its potential limitations, and propose a nuanced posture that seeks to hold in tension the priority of unreached peoples and the realities of a globalized world.
