Ministry Innovation Fund

Missio Nexus Ventures Ministries Fund for Innovation

Missio Nexus seeks to catalyze relationships, collaboration, and ideas within the Great Commission community. One of the ways we are realizing this goal is through providing opportunities for mission agencies to accelerate innovative thinking and practice in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

Missio Nexus is seeking member mission agencies to submit grant requests for innovative ministry projects. Our goal is to select 5–9 agencies to potentially fund up to $50,000 each. Each organization will go through an application and vetting process with funds being granted in the Summer of 2023 and an announcement of winners will be made at the annual mission leaders conference.

Dynamics of the grants:

  • Only for Missio Nexus members (both Canadian and US members can apply)
  • One-time and not renewable
  • Each organization must fill out an application (only one application per organization)
  • Each organization must demonstrate the unique innovative value add of the project
    • Projects should demonstrate that substantial innovation end-user empathy work has already been conducted.
    • Each organization must describe the innovation process and tools they are using and how their approach is different from non-innovation projects.
  • Each organization must submit a report one-year after funding
  • Funding requests should not exceed $50,000 USD
  • All finalist will receive a copy of the Innovation Crisis by Dr. Ted Esler
  • All recipients will be encouraged to have the project team utlize the free Seeds Innovation virtual training courses.

Each grant request will be considered by a review team consisting of mission leaders from the Missio Nexus association and Missio Nexus staff. Together we will prayerfully consider each application as it relates to scope, impact, and overall innovative approach to ministry. Grant finalists will be subject to final approval by the grant funding entity, unfortunately not all applications will be accepted.
