The OMS Regional Representative is based in Texas and works as a member of the OMS Mobilization Department. This person will focus efforts to recruit qualified candidates to serve with OMS through educating, coaching, and recruiting on college campuses, in local churches, and through strategic events in Texas. This role facilitates deepening partnerships with churches and denominations that are already connected to OMS and prospects and develops new relationships with local churches and denominations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attract and recruit biblically qualified missionary candidates to OMS.
- Develop strategies to broaden awareness of OMS among known colleges, seminaries, partner ministries, and churches.
- Develop new partnerships and recruiting pipelines in a region that aligns with OMS’ strategic priorities.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders of a church (lead pastor, missions pastor or committee, other leaders with connection to global missions) with the goal of growing deep and meaningful partnership. Pray for these churches and connections regularly.
- Speak at key colleges, seminaries, campus ministries, churches, Perspectives classes and key gatherings to identify, attract, and recruit future missionaries to OMS.
- When possible, meet face-to-face with interested candidates and pastors to develop relationships, and gauge interest and readiness for missionary service with OMS.
- Advise potential missionaries through spiritual mentorship, discipleship, missions coaching, and the candidacy process, ensuring proper fit, readiness, and placement.
- Improve organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices, monitoring mission opportunities, mobilization practices, and external communication.
- Collaborate across the various OMS departments as needed to ensure the fullness of partnership available through OMS for local churches and denominations. This includes sharing leads, events, and opportunities with other departments.
- Demonstrate the love of Christ in personal conduct, interactions with others, and with integrity while performing the duties in support of the mission and purpose of One Mission Society.
Skill and Experience Requirements:
- A passionate follower of Jesus Christ with a proven devotion to the habits necessary to maintain daily relationship with him.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in local church leadership as a staff member or volunteer. Experience in global missions activities within a local church preferred.
- Highly relational.
- Winsome interpersonal and communication skills in person, in writing, video calls, and over the phone.
- Understanding of God’s plan for the nations as described in Scripture and a passion for teaching it to others.
- Understanding of general local church operations and culture or willingness to learn.
- Able to speak publicly with confidence and to lead seminars and workshops of up to 150 people.
- Familiarity and passion with all aspects of missions.
- Experience with spiritual mentoring, discipleship, and coaching.
- Ability to communicate clearly and with empathy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work alone and cooperatively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel 20-25%, including within assigned region and to OMS HQ in Greenwood, Indiana. Some travel will be day trip in nature while other travel will require overnight travel to various places and events.
Previous cross-cultural experience preferred. - Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, etc.).
Other Details:
- This role is based in Texas and is not located at OMS USA’s Headquarters.
- This position is fully paid by One Mission Society and does not require raising financial support.
- Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000
