As a JAARS instructor Pilot for the Apprentice Program, you will work with our Aviation Training Team to help provide flight and ground instruction to trainees as they prepare for overseas service. You will work with the aviation team to provide gap training and instruct trainees on JAARS’ flight requirements and safety standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Complete Instructor Pilot (IP) Standardization training (Initial and annual standardization courses)
  • Meet regularly with the Aviation Training Manager to discuss relevant training issues
  • Share experiences from respective organization programs to influence and improve JAARS Aviation Training Programs
  • Develop and prepare course outlines, study materials, and instructional procedures for pilots
  • Perform ground instruction on various core and type specific aircraft courses
  • Perform flight instruction using approved curriculum
  • Could include instrument instruction in the Redbird FMX flight simulator and or aircraft
  • Conduct thorough debriefs including the KSA assessments

Education and Experience

  • Mission field experience using high performance aircraft desired
  • Certified flight instructor certificate
  • Prior flight Instructional experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Valid Class II FAA Medical certificate or equivalent
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
