Ministry Overview
Christian Aid Mission seeks to establish a witness for Christ in every nation by assisting indigenous ministries based in areas of poverty and persecution, giving priority to ministries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with unreached people groups. Today, we work with hundreds of indigenous ministries in eight regions of the world that share the gospel with more than 2,000 unreached people groups.
Position Overview
Working in collaboration with the Vice President of Integrated Marketing and Development, the Lead Designer is responsible to drive and manage design for all Integrated Marketing channels as well as any creative design needs organizationally. Provides direction and mentoring for the Integrated Marketing Specialist as needed. Ensures that branding is consistent and in the most compelling, readable, and cost-effective format for a non-profit ministry while taking into account the demographic of the audience.
Responsibilities also includes design for the front-end of the Christian Aid Mission website. Includes creation of creative elements such as web banners and donate buttons as well as ensuring that content is updated as it is provided by the Director of Communications. Also responsible for video editing and other assignments as requested by the VP of Integrated Marketing and Development.
The Lead Designer reports to the Vice President of Integrated Marketing and Development is a member of Integrated Marketing Team.
Work Location: Charlottesville, VA Office (Hybrid work option after training)
Essential Responsibilities
Graphic Design 60%
Design Christian Aid Mission print products such as Direct Mail, Witness Newsletter, reports, proposals, and other marketing channel pieces. Ensure that all design pieces are easy to read, compelling and represent the CAM brand as defined. Provide direction in design to the Integrated Marketing Specialist.
Website Design 20%
Design and keep website current. Update web banners monthly or as requested. Assist with adding additional pages as needed. Ensure that layout and features of the website are clear and easy to navigate. Keep the website relevant.
Video Editing 20%
Assemble raw materials such as photo and video clips from the field into a video product that is compelling, clear, and represents the brand and mission of Christian Aid Mission. Ensure that use of photos and clips are collateral of CAM and have approval by International Ministry Directors to be used.
Qualifications
3-5 years’ experience
Hands-on knowledge of a range of industry standard software including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat required (Advanced Level of expertise) Advanced skill of video editing software such as Adobe Premier Pro. Experience with, or exposure to, WordPress, HTML and CSS.
Education
BA/BS degree in graphic design or visual communication or equivalent vocational/technical training
